New York City Design Entrepreneur Sandi Pleeter

As the lead designer and founder of Haute Home in New York City, Sandi Harris Pleeter meets with residential and business clients to determine their interior design needs. Sandi Harris Pleeter bases her expertise on more than 20 years of experience in fashion, sales, product development and construction. She was a protege of well-known apparel designers Todd Oldham and Cynthia Rowley.

Earlier in her career, Sandi Pleeter served as the national sales director for home textiles distributor Town and Country Living, where she more than doubled the company’s growth. In addition to working with buyers and designers, she set prices and profit margins, as well as consulted with the design staff. She also trained sales representatives and helped guide strategy for Borobabi, a circular children’s-wear retail company.

Ms. Pleeter is also a volunteer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Originally volunteering in the education department, she now escorts visitors, imparting her knowledge about the museum’s large and extensive collections. Another example of her community service is her 14+ years of service as a fundraiser for Ridgewood Public Schools in Ridgewood NJ.

She earned a BA in communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo. More recently she obtained a BID certification from the New York School of Interior Design. In her spare time, she practices yoga, reads and travels to locations around the world to visit local artisans, creatives and galleries.
